Select Board · Meeting of April 7, 2026

Springfield City Council approved food truck rules, including a $125 annual permit fee, on a 10-0 vote. The final step on Chapter 279 followed amendments requiring a City Council-issued permit to operate between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. and 50-foot setbacks from homes (100 feet with a generator). Sites with three or more trucks became food truck parks needing a special permit.

DPW Director Chris Signoli had sought $450 for six months and said "if there's no fee, there's no enforcement." The fee amendment passed 9-1. Councilors also approved a $5,123,276.05 HUD lead hazard grant and a $5,900,060.65 Chapter 90 order behind a $6.5 million paving program. A 10-1 vote sent the Cloverdale Street discontinuance to committee.
