Springfield's City Council Finance Committee weighed a school food service contract and library bonding. Staff asked for a one-year contract with four one-year renewal options, five years in all, to draw more bidders, and said vendor returns to the city are capped at $3 million. A staff member said the contract is separate from the current Sodexo audit, and meals average about $4.50 each.
Molly, a staff member, said the East Springfield branch library carries a grant award of roughly $6.8 million, with construction expected to start in about a year. The committee also heard a $250,000 ADA grant, three MSBA school design projects and an unpaid Tyler Technologies bill. No vote was recorded before the 5:27 p.m. adjournment.
