Select Board · Meeting of March 18, 2026

SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield City Council subcommittee sent the public speak-out pilot to the full council with a recommendation for an up-or-down vote. Attorney Moore told the General Government Subcommittee the plan moves the existing speak-out into regular meetings, with up to eight speakers at three minutes each and the same content rules. Moore agreed to write an eight-to-ten-point summary before the full council's next meeting.

Members floated a five-speaker cap, and one raised concerns about remote participation by councilors. The panel also heard resident Dave Bollier and Zoning Commissioner Mike Jacob on the city's 20-foot limit on stored campers. Jacob suggested site plan review for larger units in single-family districts.

No vote was taken on that item. The voice vote on the pilot was taken without a stated count.
