Select Board · Meeting of March 9, 2026

Springfield City Council advanced its food truck ordinance on first step, 11-1 with one abstention. DPW Director Chris Signoli said a proposed six-month permit would cost $450, with a $150 renewal, and that the current rules carry a 500-foot buffer from residential property. A motion to send the item back to committee failed 5-8.

Councilor Click-Bruce, who chairs Maintenance and Development, said he was "begging" colleagues to submit written input. Signoli said he hoped to have rules in place by May 1. The council also approved four electric vehicle charger sites 13-0 and made two Forest Park Avenue four-way stops permanent.

A second council vote is still required before any food truck rules can be enforced.
