Select Board · Meeting of March 2, 2026

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield City Council rejected a no-confidence resolution against Council President Tracy Whitfield. Whitfield recused herself, and Vice President Jose Delgado presided. Councilor Victor Davila cited Law Department findings about an undisclosed financial interest in a Wallace Street discontinuance.

Councilor Fenton said he supported the resolution because of a second report, saying "I would not support a vote of no confidence" had the matter ended with the street vote. The council voted 11-0 to end debate before the roll call on the resolution. Councilors also approved a $4,725,776 two-year homeless health grant, a $500,000 snow-removal transfer and a bond order for heat pump design at five schools.

Councilors confirmed John McCloskey to the Mobile Home Rent Control Board.
