SPRINGFIELD — The Conservation Commission approved Five Mile Pond Park accessibility work 4-0 and told a homeowner's attorney a wetland violation blocked a certificate. Commissioners Christopher Collins, Juanita Martinez, Fred Miller and Frank Ryan voted to issue a standard order of conditions for a project split into two phases. The boat launch, with three fishing pods, uses ARPA money that ends Dec. 31 and is planned for 2026.
The beach side depends on a $2 million Land and Water Conservation Fund grant, with a decision expected in September. Earlier, attorney Tim Reynolds sought to correct a typo on a mid-2000s partial certificate of compliance, but officials said a pool, shed, garage and paving built after 2013 left the lot out of compliance.
