License Commission · Meeting of June 24, 2026
Springfield's License Commission voted 4-0 to reject extended 3 a.m. bar hours tied to the World Cup. Commissioners Ramirez and D'Angelo Antonio said the city lacks the infrastructure and police staffing for the later closing time, with Ramirez calling it "more of a burden than a supportive thing." The same meeting, the board approved a new liquor license for District Fusion Table on Worthington Street by a 3-1 vote despite co-owner Will Quarterman's failure to disclose two decades-old misdemeanor convictions on his sworn application. The board also voted 3-1 to find no violation by Mojito Bar and Restaurant on Belmont Avenue after a March 16 shooting outside the club, despite inconsistencies in security guard John Toledo's account.
Two other liquor licenses, for Casa Italian and Azul Agave, were approved unanimously 4-0.
