License Commission · Meeting of May 13, 2026
Springfield's License Commission voted to call three bars in for hearings after shootings outside each, while also approving four new licenses. Officer-investigator George, of the police firearms investigations unit, told commissioners a man fired an AK-style firearm into X Pub's rear door on March 27 after being ejected following a domestic dispute, and described repeated shooting incidents outside Mojito's. Commissioners voted unanimously to schedule May 27 hearings for Mojito's, X Pub and L'Amour, where a man with a gun license was wounded outside on March 29.
They took no action on a March 8 incident at Rosé for lack of evidence linking the bar. Commissioners also approved licenses for Hope for Youth and Families Inc., Springfield Wine Exchange, The Tint Shop and Auto Sales, and Orchard Car Company, all on unanimous roll calls. "I cannot track who actually is actually calling," George said, citing a flawed new 911 system.
